There is no one on this earth quite like Eric Cantona.

The enigmatic Frenchman is famous for simply doing what he likes and is responsible for some of the most bizarre and comedic moments in recent memory.

Who can forget his quite baffling speech at the UEFA Champions League draw last season in which he quoted King Lear by claiming that humans will one day 'become eternal'?

His famous scissor kick after taking exception to a Crystal Pace fan's comments has forever been immortalised in the memories of football fans as well.

Now, however, 'King Eric' has outdone himself yet again, after taking up the starring role in a Liam Gallagher music video.

In the video Cantona can be seen living his best life, swigging on red wine while wandering around a palatial mansion in a silk gown.

He then takes a seat at a beautiful grand piano before channelling his inner Alexis Sanchez and playing a merry little tune.

Almost unsurprisingly he then dons a rather regal looking robe and a crown before making his way into the rolling gardens, hopping into a chauffeur-driven car, and winding off into the distance.

You can see the video below:

It's a lovely bit of work but you can't help but feel it was the role Cantona was absolutely born to play.

In fact, you wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't really acting at all and that, in fact, that is how he spends most of his days at home.

Despite being a die-hard Manchester City fan, Gallagher was only too happy to have a United legend like Cantona at the forefront of his new release.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have Eric Cantona, the last rock ‘n’ roll footballer, star in my video for ‘Once’,” said Gallagher.

“Songs like this don’t come around very often and neither do football players like him.”

They really don't Liam, they really don't.

At the time of writing, the video had racked up over 40,000 views in a matter of hours and, thanks to Cantona's sublime performance, you can expect that number to keep rising.
