Odion Ighalo is on the verge of completing a move to Manchester United. The Nigerian striker has been plying his trade in China for the past three years.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been desperate for a striker after Marcus Rashford went down with injury earlier this month. And it appears he has settled on Ighalo, who is set to join United on a season-long loan.Ighalo has never played for an elite club before.

He's had a decent but not spectacular career. He's featured for the likes of Udinese, Granada and Watford in his 15 years as a professional.

But, at 30 years old, he finally has his opportunity to move to a big club.

And, for Ighalo, the move is extra special.

That's because he has supported United ever since he was a child.

Back in 2016, during his time at Watford, Ighalo also admitted that it would be a 'dream' to move to United.

"I don’t think I will be moving but I’m not sure I’d say no if Manchester United called," said Ighalo, per the Metro.

"They were my team growing up. I loved watching Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke on TV.

"They were my idols and playing at Old Trafford has always been a dream."

And an image has emerged of him in a United shirt during his youth.

Ighalo's waited a long time but, at the age of 30, his dream looks set to finally come true.

The deal is expected to be completed in the next few hours.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping that he can produce the goals needed for United to force their way back into the Premier League top four.
