Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is worried he could be out of action for the rest of the season after dislocating his figure against Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The 20-year-old, who has recently broken into the first team at the Emirates, suffered the injury when saving an early Dani Alves free-kick and the Pole is waiting on the results of a scan which could wreak his season.

"Let's hope it's not as bad as it could possibly be," said Szczesny. "Of course, I am worried I might be out for some time.

"It is part of the game and there is nothing I can do at the moment. "I knew straight away I would have to come off and spent half-time with the doctor trying to find out what is wrong with my finger."

Manuel Alumnia, who replaced Szcesny for the remainder of the evening, made an encouraging return to the team, making numerous saves to keep the Catalan giants at bay.
