Bournemouth's owners have been spotted wearing club-branded face masks, whilst in attendance at their game against Aston Villa today. The somewhat questionable precaution - or fashion choice - is no doubt in reaction to the news that the deadly Coronavirus had made it's way to England, after two cases were confirmed on Friday. No further cases across the UK have been reported yet however, and the two patients in question remain under quarantine in a specialist medical facility in Newcastle - about as far from Bournemouth as it is possible to be. The Cherries' owners however obviously felt the risk was sufficient to don a face mask in their first public appearance since the outbreak, but also spotted a great opportunity to flaunt some new merchandise in the process.

It remains to be seen whether the bold new masks will be available for purchase to fans, but it's certain to say they are far from popular on Twitter.

One fan asked 'Please tell me this isn't serious?' whilst another quipped 'They'll get a virus thinking about the Championship'.

Even the king of social media comments, Peter Crouch himself, couldn't resist a dig at the owners, remarking that they're 'Not confident on the vitality in the stadium'.

Whilst Bourmeouth were getting throughly rinsed off the pitch, however, they were at least fairing a little better on it, with Philip Billing and Nathan Ake giving The Cherries a two goal lead coming into the break.
