Tottenham vs Manchester City was struck by VAR madness shortly before half-time.After Serge Aurier fouled Sergio Aguero inside the penalty box, referee Mike Dean originally waved play on. But two minutes later the game was halted as VAR - which was checking the foul while play was going on - confirmed it was a penalty. Ilkay Gundogan stepped up and saw his spot-kick saved by Hugo Lloris - but don't worry, the drama wasn't done there.  In the aftermath, Raheem Sterling tried to score the rebound and appeared to be tripped by the Spurs goalkeeper. 

Dean pointed for a goal kick after the forward went down and a bit of argy-bargy followed, while VAR checked that decision. 

The technology eventually judged Sterling to have dived and decided to award no penalty.

Unbelievable. We're also wondering why Sterling wasn't given a second yellow card for diving... But that's a whole other discussion. 

He picked up an early booking for a foul on Dele Alli. While the Spurs man was down receiving treatment, VAR was looking at the challenge, to decide if it was worth a red. 

It did appear the Man City winger overran the ball and produced a studs-up tackle, but the technology decided against upgrading it to a red card. Check that decision out below:
