It’s only a matter of time now before Liverpool seal the 2019-20 Premier League title.

Jurgen Klopp’s side boast a remarkable 22-point lead at the top of the table and could be crowned champions as early as mid-March.

The Reds sealed the 24th victory (from their 25th fixture) of what has been an extraordinary campaign so far against Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

Mohamed Salah scored twice and now sits joint-third in the Premier League’s top scorer charts, alongside Marcus Rashford, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Danny Ings. Only Jamie Vardy and Sergio Aguero have scored more this season.

However, it was Liverpool’s captain Jordan Henderson who produced a Man of the Match display, scoring one goal and setting up another in the rout.

Premier League players will soon cast their votes for the PFA’s prestigious Player of the Year award - and there’s now a new favourite with the bookmakers.

Here’s the top 10, as things stand, in full - with the odds coming courtesy of SkyBet.

10. Fabinho - 50/1

It would take something extraordinary for Fabinho to be crowned Player of the Year, even though the Brazilian midfielder has been excellent for Liverpool this season.

9. Roberto Firmino - 20/1

Firmino is an absolutely crucial player for Liverpool. The Brazilian forward has scored eight goals and registered eight assists in the league so far.

8. Raheem Sterling - 20/1

One of the early-season favourites to win the award, Sterling’s form hasn’t been good enough of late. The Man City forward has now gone five league games without scoring or setting up a goal. Barring a miracle, he will not be winning the Player of the Year award.

7. Jamie Vardy - 20/1

It’s been another fantastic season for the Leicester City striker, who currently has 17 goals and six assists. But even winning the Golden Boot award may not be enough to see him crowned Player of the Year.

6. Trent Alexander-Arnold - 12/1

What a season the 21-year-old is having. Alexander-Arnold has cemented his status as arguably the world’s best right-back in recent months and currently has two goals and TWELVE assists to his name.

5. Virgil van Dijk - 10/1

The best defender in the world right now - by a distance - Van Dijk won the coveted individual accolade last season and is in strong contention to win it again.

4. Mohamed Salah - 9/1

Winner of the PFA’s Premier League Player of the Year award in 2018, Salah is currently the fourth favourite. However, the Egyptian forward’s odds will tumble even further if he continues banging in the goals.

3. Kevin De Bruyne - 5/1

Arguably the best player in the Premier League on his day, De Bruyne has seven goals and 17 assists to his name. But if Man City finish second, the award will surely have to go to a Liverpool player.

2. Sadio Mane - 11/4

Mane, who has scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in the Premier League this season, was the favourite until going off injured against Wolves last month. The Senegal international has surely already done enough this season to pick up a significant number of votes.

1. Jordan Henderson - 11/10

Henderson deserves immense credit for the way he’s knuckled down and worked tirelessly to improve himself over the past couple of years. Written off and maligned by many football fans, the English midfielder has managed to silence his critics. The 29-year-old has chipped in with three goals and four assists this season and will proudly lift the Premier League trophy in a few weeks’ time.
