Testing for the new F1 season will begin at the end of the month with all teams due to release their new cars in the next few weeks - only Red Bull are yet to set a date for their unveiling.

Subsequently, a YouTube video has been released comparing the sounds of all the new engines for next year.

The video features engine sounds from Mercedes, Ferrari and Renault, all of which will be battling for next season’s Championship.

Engines play a massive part in F1, and this only helps to increase the excitement surrounding the new season.

Interestingly, the video seems to poke fun at Red Bull and Honda by leaving a 15-second gap at the end titled: “Coming Soon,” with nothing but silence to accompany it.

As previously highlighted, Honda seem to be keeping their cards close to their chest, and there have even been rumours circulating that they may quit ahead of the new F1 regulations in 2021 - their current deal only has one year left to run.

It goes without saying that engine sound is not going to be the most defining factor in a Formula 1 season. However, there are some noticeable differences in the way that each team will have their cars sounding.

Renault and Mercedes both seem to have higher-pitched engine sound, with Mercedes, in particular, sounding more like a swarm of angry bees, than a race engine. Ferrari seems to have gone for a more aggressive and deep-toned engine.

Listen to the clip above and see what you think.

Mercedes took the Constructors’ Championship last year, with both their drivers finishing in the top two of the Drivers’ Championship.

Lewis Hamilton will be hoping this new engine can lead him to title success yet again.
