Liverpool are on the verge of becoming the greatest side the Premier League have ever seen.A crazy 24 wins from their 25 matches has seen them serge 22 points clear at the top of the table. It's a matter of time and not if.They’re well on course to break City’s record 100-point tally, while it’s looking increasingly likely they will go the entire campaign unbeaten. Those rivals fans who simply can’t accept the fact Liverpool are about to win the Premier League have come up with a long list of excuses.

“The standard of the Premier League is rubbish this season.”

“LiVARpool.”

“They’ve just been lucky.”

“They’ve had no injuries.”

Let’s kill all four of those theories right here right now, shall we?

This thread explores the theory that this Premier League season is lacking quality.

Meanwhile, our weekly ‘How the Premier League table would look without VAR’ shows Liverpool would still be 15 points clear.

Then there’s the “luck” shout. How can you be lucky winning 24 from 25 matches?

Which brings us onto the suggestion that Liverpool have been lucky with injuries.

Well, we’re about to blow that theory out of the water.

A tweet from a Liverpool fan claimed that the XI that have played the most minutes of the side this season - and arguably their best XI - is yet to start a game together this season.

Surely not?

Well, freelance football writer and Liverpool fan Andrew Beasley took a closer look and discovered that not only is that true, they’ve also never even been on the pitch for a single minute together.

In fact, there have only been six matches in which they’ve all featured this season - but not all at the same time.

Quite remarkable.

Alisson was ruled out for nine weeks with a calf injury at the start of the campaign, while Joe Gomez had to play second-fiddle to Joel Matip at the beginning of the season. More recently, Fabinho has been sidelined with an ankle injury.

Now, all 11 players are fully fit with Liverpool just six wins away from Premier League glory.

They will surely all be on the pitch together in the upcoming fixtures both in the league and the Champions League.

But it’s a scary thought that this Liverpool side could get even stronger when they return from their winter break.
