After the game, Subotic emotionally discussed the tribute from his former fans, saying: "It was such a special moment, there is no script for it. Everything that happens is made very special because 25,000 crazy fans are here to support me and show their appreciation.

"And also from my end it is very much appreciated. A very very special moment in my career, and my life."

A special, special moment. Dortmund fans really are the best in the world.

They were likely buoyed by the result from the game, with their team strolling to a 5-0 victory to keep pace at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Erling Haaland was the star of the show once again as he grabbed another two goals, taking his tally to seven in just three games since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg.

Jadon Sancho also added another one to his Bundesliga tally, taking him to 12 goals and 12 assists in just 18 league games.

The future is certainly looking bright for Dortmund, but it's good to see the fans are ready to pay their respects to former players that help make them the European powerhouse they are.
