Speculation about Luka Modric moving to Inter Milan has gathered momentum with Inter captain Javier Zanetti endorsing the Tottenham star.
The Italian top flight club are said to be considering making a £50 million offer for the player, and are hoping that they will be able to change Harry Redknapp’s mind over refusing to sell the Croatian international in the summer.
Zanetti is a legend at Inter Milan, having played over 500 games for the club. And he had nothing but nice things to say about the Tottenham midfielder who shone in the AC Milan Champions League clash last night.
"We faced Modric twice in this season's Champions League and I think he's a great player.
"Technically, he brings an interesting dimension. He's also still young.
Intriguingly, Zanetti admits that praise for a player who hasn’t yet signed with Inter Milan is not a very common occurrence on his part.
"I say this even though I prefer to talk about the players who are already here because we are still in the running for all competitions."
