Within recent years at least, podcasts appear to be the next exciting media-revelation.

From the likes of True Geordie on YouTube and the Peter Crouch podcast produced by the BBC, this is now deemed the new way of absorbing information and producing entertainment.

Moreover, Joe Rogan, somewhat the king of the podcast-universe, has proven that you can make a serious living by simply sitting in a comfy chair and chatting to some of the finest individuals this planet has to offer.

'The Joe Rogan Experience' was launched in 2009 and the popular podcast has gone from strength to strength. According to Forbes, Rogan made $30m (£23m) in 2019 from his show alone and has established himself as the highest-earning podcaster that year.

Since the creation of the channel, Rogan is closing in on two billion views across the YouTube space and attracted just under 30 million views on his two-and-a-half-hour podcast with Elon Musk.

To put that into perspective, this video attracted more viewers than the entire population of the Scandinavian region.

Speaking to Forbes, Tom Webster, senior vice president at Edison Research, said: "[Rogan is] delivering scale and engagement."

Webster went onto say: "He's the no. 1 in terms of reach in the U.S."

Aside from benefiting his bank balance, the production of the podcast has also helped Rogan change his routine in other areas of his life.

During a podcast with a guest, Rogan stepped on a set of scales which weighed the American as 14.5 stone, where Rogan admitted this is the "heaviest" he has ever been.

Therefore, with a vision of weight-loss insight, Rogan opted for a strict-new diet which favoured meat, fish and animal-produced foods such as eggs and removing fruit, vegetables, grains and nuts from his daily consumption.

"So I did the carnivore diet for all of January, I lost 12 pounds, gained a tonne of energy - my energy levels were completely flat the whole month, no ups and downs from crashing after eating.

"I had a belly; a lot of people made fun of me, fat-shamed me. I lost all my fat, I lost the belly, I lost my love handles. I don't know if I'm gonna keep eating like this but it was tremendously beneficial.

"I also have an auto-immune disorder, it's called vitiligo, and my vitiligo improved, I had a bunch of white spots fill in, so, I don't know."

Rogan realised that this dietary plan could be considered rather rogue, however, the now fitness-loving podcaster is reportedly feeling better than ever.

"I went into this thing thinking this carnivore diet was wacky and probably thought it was nonsense, but this is as good as I've felt in a long time and it's just one month."
