Liverpool fans are pretty excited right now and they have every right to be.The Premier League is making a long-awaited return on June 17 and the organisers might as well start carving the Reds' name on the trophy already. However, rival fans will be well aware that Liverpool enjoying any success at all this season will bring its fair share of boasting and bragging. It might be thoroughly justified and in good humour, but that won't stop Manchester United fans in particular from squirming in their seats as Kopites sing from the hills.Well, strap yourselves in United fans, because it seems as though some of the celebratory chatter has already reared its head and it comes from 888sport's amusing 'Unpopular Opinion' segment.

'Henderson is better than Scholes'

Kopite 'Craig' has opined that Jordan Henderson is a better footballer than Paul Scholes ever was and that the United legend was no more than a 'ginger Mark Noble.'

If you're wondering what Craig might be smoking, the most feasible answer is probably the fumes of success (sorry Red Devils), but hear the guy out before raising your protestations.

"My unpopular opinion is that Paul Scholes is completely over-hyped and Jordan Henderson is a better player," Craig argued. "I am sick of listening to the 'Gerrard-Scholes-Lampard' debate; Scholes doesn't belong in that.

Craig's unpopular opinion

"Jordan Henderson has been a career of progression. He led the English under-21s, he captained the English national team. The man dominates in midfield, can play in any position and every manager he has worked under trusts him implicitly.

"Scholes is nowhere near fit to lace even Jordan Henderson's boots. He's nothing but a ginger Mark Noble and that is my unpopular opinion."

GIVEMESPORT's Kobe Tong says

Look, I like you, Craig, but what on earth are you on about?

Henderson is a top, top player and that's no longer an opinion reserved for footballing hipsters, but saying that Scholes isn't fit to lace his boots is like making Drake the warm-up act for Honey-G.

For the love of football, Zinedine Zidane called Scholes his toughest ever opponent, Xavi admitted he was a 'role model' and Socrates declared he was good enough to play for Brazil.

Maybe I'll change my mind when Lionel Messi admits to having Henderson posters in his bedroom and that Neymar bought him an Ancestry DNA kit to see if he was part-Brazilian, but I can't see it happening myself.

Let's celebrate both players for what they've achieved for their clubs, sure; just don't blow things out of proportion because Henderson is suddenly going to be within 10 Premier League titles of Scholes.

There's levels to this.
