Premier League fans, especially West Ham supporters, will never forget Dimitri Payet's performance in the 2015/16 season. The French midfielder arrived at West Ham in the summer of 2015 having been one of the best players in Ligue 1 for many seasons. And he then had a ridiculous campaign in the Premier League.Payet soon became a firm favourite at the east London club with some brilliant displays. In total, he scored nine goals and recorded 12 assists in the league that season.Unfortunately, his performance levels dipped and he made the move to Marseille in 2017.

Payet, three years on from signing for Marseille, is still at the club.

Despite now being 32 years old, he's having one of his best seasons as a professional.

He was making his 22nd appearance of the season against Saint-Etienne on Wednesday and he managed to score his 10th goal.

And what a goal it was.

Payet picked up the ball on the left-hand side and made a mockery of a defender.

After turning him inside and out, he then tried an audacious effort from the byline, which bamboozled Stéphane Ruffier and went into the net.

What a goal. Payet is clearly still a baller.

Payet was linked with a move away from Marseille in January, with a return to West Ham even touted as a possibility.

But he stayed put and he recently commented on those rumours.

"I read it like you," he said, per footmercato. "Everyone knows my attachment to the club suddenly I think that the question does not arise.

"I think it's pretty clear in my head. Everyone knows why I came back. The goal is to bring OM back to the Champions League. Qualifying is good, playing in it is better."

Sorry West Ham fans, but it sounds like a fan-favourite will not be returning any time soon.
