Have you ever seen anything like it?

Edigar Junio saw his spot-kick tipped onto the post by Vissel Kobe goalkeeper Hiroki Iikura, before Keijiro Ogawa watched his effort slam back off the woodwork.

Kota Mizunuma then smashed his penalty into orbit, but Daigo Nishi was unable to put Vissel Kobe ahead moments later.

Ken Matsubara was the next player to miss before Leo Osaki blazed over.

Takuya Wada then had his spot-kick saved before former Arsenal and Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen missed.

Keita Endo then missed the ninth successive penalty before Hotaru Yamaguchi finally put everyone out of their misery by successfully converting the 14th spot-kick of the shoot-out.

This has to be a serious contender for the worst penalty shoot-out of all time.

But that won’t bother Vissel Kobe, whose players - including Iniesta - proudly celebrated becoming 2020 Japanese Super Cup winners.
