Tyson Fury is truly at the peak of his powers right now as he prepares for his monumental rematch with Deontay Wilder.

Fury and Wilder contested a fierce draw in their first bout, and both combatants will be desperate to settle the score later this month in Las Vegas.

All eyes in the boxing world will be on the Garden Arena at the MGM Grand for one of the most hotly anticipated fights of the century with two titans of the sport set to come to blows.

Fury's dedication to his preparations for this bout has been a marvel, with the self-proclaimed 'Gypsy King' leaving no stone unturned in his attempt to be ready for the fight.

When you remember just how far the Morecambe native has come since those dark days of depression and drug struggles, you can't help but admire him more.

Fury was massively overweight at the time as well, and the very thought of another world title fight in the future just seemed massively ambitious.

And, after recent comments, Fury outlined that this fight may never have happened as he came within seconds of taking his own life.

Speaking in an ITV documentary Fury had this to say:

“One day I woke up and thought ‘today’s the day I end it all’.

“I was heading towards this bridge, I was going to smash the car into the bridge at very high speed, I just didn’t have the ambition to live anymore.

“Before I got to the bridge I heard a voice saying ‘don’t do this, you’re going to destroy your family’s life’ and I immediately pulled the car over and that was the first time I thought, ‘right, now or never.

"'I need to get well immediately’.”

Thankfully, Fury did get well - and then some.

He is now in the best shape of his life and the slight favourite to defeat Wilder in Sin City.

If he is crowned victor at the end of the night, no one would deny him a massive party.

He has certainly earned it.
