When embarking on university life, most students find jobs at local restaurants or shops to balance alongside their studies.

However, for Jordan Hadaway at Liverpool Hope University, he did things a bit different.

Instead, the 18-year-old became the world's youngest senior manager after taking charge of Welsh side Caerwys FC.

The youngster, who was handed the job back in April 2019 alongside Ethan Jones, embarked on senior management after clinching his UEFA 'B' coaching badge at youth level.

Speaking about the dream job, Hadaway said via LADbible: "Despite my age, I always felt confident about earning the respect of the lads.

"I said to them, 'If you don't want me here, just tell me'.

"We've got some senior pros, the oldest of which is 36. But I keep the older guys close to me while the younger ones are left more to their own devices.

"Do they call me gaffer? Yes, they do, and it's still quite strange!

"And I'm not afraid to dish-out a rollicking if necessary - though I haven't had to give one yet as we've been doing so well."

Things haven't stopped there for Hadaway either.

That's because the student's career has now moved to a whole new level as the young coach was poached by European giants Real Madrid.

The 18-year-old was given the opportunity to become a member of staff leading the club's soccer clinics in the UK to which Hadaway said:

"I was recommended to the club, who waited for me to finish my UEFA B licence, and I'm now one of Real Madrid's members of staff.

"It's a pretty privileged position - getting to rub shoulders with the likes of Raul, Álvaro Arbeloa, Roberto Carlos and Santiago Solari - and I'm loving it."

Hadaway is still leading the way at Caerwys though as his side sit fourth in the North East Wales Premier Division table.
