How do you improve a side that has won 24 of their 25 matches and is strolling to Premier League glory?

That’s the question Jurgen Klopp will be asking himself ahead of the summer transfer window.

After a very quiet summer last year, Liverpool will be looking to make sure they remain at the very top for years to come.

But how?

Well, Liverpool.com have had a bit of fun and tried to predict how Liverpool will look in five years’ time.

Here’s what they came up with:

Alisson

The Brazilian will be 32 in 2025 and, if he’s still at the club, Liverpool will certainly have got value for their £67 million.

Neco Williams

Williams has shown promise during his four appearances this season and looks set to follow in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s footsteps - literally.

Virgil van Dijk

Can Liverpool keep hold of the best defender in the world for another five years? He’ll be 34 and will be a club legend by then.

Joe Gomez

Gomez will be 28 and in his prime. Playing next to Van Dijk for the next five years will do wonders for him.

Andy Robertson

Robertson will still only be 31 in five years’ time and will be even more of a cult hero than he already is.

Fabinho

Fabinho will be in his thirties but he’s already shown that he’s a world-class defensive midfielder.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Thanks to his incredible passing range, some believe Alexander-Arnold’s future belongs in midfield. Playing on the right of a three would still allow him to get down the flank and whip crosses in. Imagine how good he’ll be at 26.

Curtis Jones

Two scousers in midfield. Liverpool fans would absolutely love that. Jones will be 24 and has the talent to become a future Liverpool star.

Harvey Elliott

Elliott will still only be 21 in 2025 and could take Mohamed Salah’s position with the Egyptian 32-years-old. Might have a decent haircut by then.

Jadon Sancho

Sadio Mane out, Sancho in?

He’s already world-class at the age of 19 so by 2025, he’d surely be one of the best players in world football.

Timo Werner

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Werner this week and it seems there is genuine interest from Klopp and co. Trying to replace Roberto Firmino is an unenviable task but Werner has the ability to do just that.

So, what do we think?

It’s certainly an impressive XI and one that will surely be challenging for Premier League and Champions League honours.

However, there might be a slight concern at the age of some of their star players.

Alisson, Van Dijk, Robertson and Fabinho will all need replacing shortly after 2025 - something that is going to be very difficult indeed.

And can the front-three of Elliott, Sancho and Werner be as effective as Salah, Mane and Firmino?

But perhaps most importantly of all - who will be the manager? It’s unlikely that Klopp will still in charge in another five years’ time so it will be crucial to the club’s future that they replace him properly.
