Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies is quickly becoming one of the finest left-backs in world football. The Canadian international made a name for himself in his homeland as an electric left-winger, but it's in a new pragmatic role where he's shone for Bayern.Davies always seems to perform in the big games as well and within minutes today against RB Leipzig, the 19-year-old was the talk of the town across social media. Why you ask? Because he displayed a level of pace that was actually quite frightening for a professional footballer.Even the likes of Kylian Mbappe would have struggled to keep up with Davies here, as he raced back into his own half to thwart a Leipzig counter-attack with ease.

Wow, talk about afterburners.

German publication DW Sports tweeted that Davies reached a top speed of 34.76 km/h, which is the same as a bottlenose dolphin.

Impressive stuff. The Canadian's game is about far more than just pace, though.

He creates chances when bombing forward and he is more than capable at defending like a natural full-back when called upon.

It's amazing to think that had Bayern not been bogged down by defensive injuries this season, Davies probably would not have received the chance to thrive.

It's an opportunity he has taken, with Davies scoring one goal and notching three assists in his 17 Bundesliga games this season.

Bayern's left-back spot looks in safe hands for the foreseeable future!
