Manchester United have been linked with thousands of players since Ed Woodward became executive vice-chairman in 2013.
Indeed, the Mirror found they were reported to be interested in 113 different names in the January transfer window.
They ended up with just three arrivals - Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes, young goalkeeper Nathan Bishop and former Watford striker Odion Ighalo on loan.
But the summer will roll around and the rumour mill will go into overdrive once again.
This season hasn’t been a great one for the Red Devils and eyes are already turning to the summer window, where Woodward will be responsible for adding more players to the squad.
It’s about time that the 48-year-old really nailed it and delivered some players who can turn United’s fortunes around.
According to the Mirror, he’s already planning for the summer and has a dream XI in mind.
Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is the first name on Woodward’s Wishlist.
The Senegalese centre-back has been linked with United for some time now and their interest in signing him hasn’t waned.
United also want Leicester City midfielder James Maddison. The England international is “someone the club will likely prioritise” when the window opens.
Maddison, like Koulibaly, would cost a hefty fee but his performances at the King Power Stadium over the past year suggest it would be worth it.
Borussia Dortmund and England starlet Jadon Sancho is next up, although the battle to sign him will be intense.
Sancho has 12 goals and 13 assists in the Bundesliga this season and is a favourite of Woodward.
The player who tops the executive vice-chairman’s wishlist is also the one least likely to join Man United - Erling Haaland.
The Red Devils wanted to sign Haaland in January but Borussia Dortmund beat them to it, and he’s unlikely to leave the Bundesliga giants after just half a season.
