In a move that would seem to secure their long-term future in the sport, Mercedes have announced a new five-year sponsorship deal with multinational chemicals company INEOS and wasted little time in providing fans with a sneak peak of their new look for the 2020 season.Whilst the Brackley-based team will not officially reveal their car for the new campaign until it is driven by reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton and during a publicity campaign filming day at Silverstone on Friday, Mercedes have unveiled their updated car livery for this year on Twitter.Images of the new livery were posted by the team on their official Twitter account, showing the revised look on its 2019 car. The main goal of Mercedes' reveal is to satisfy their new commercial partners, allowing its technical team to continue tweaking the car itself - and the INEOS branding is naturally prominently displayed. The team's existing silver, black and green colour scheme remains, but the burgundy branding of INEOS has also been added. The front wing endplates and airbox now include streaks of burgundy and the sponsor's name is also featured on the rear wing.

The announcement of a new long-term sponsor for Mercedes will come as a source of great relief to Mercedes fans.

Team principal Toto Wolff had previously cast doubt upon the participation of the team in the sport following the conclusion of the forthcoming season due to contractual issues with F1 owners.

However, with INEOS - owned by Britain's richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe - now on board, the future of Mercedes looks far more stable. The INEOS deal sees the company become Mercedes' second-most valuable principal sponsor, behind only title sponsor Petronas.

The INEOS brand is certainly no stranger to sporting success either, with Team INEOS last year winning the coveted Tour de France title.

With pre-season testing set to begin in a little over a week in Barcelona, preparations for the new F1 season are now in full swing.

The first opportunity for fans to see the Mercedes car in race action proper will be at the Australian Grand Prix on March 15, when both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas take to the track in Melbourne.
