Jon Jones’ triumph in his latest UFC championship bout with Dominick Reyes was by no means his most convincing, despite the manner of a unanimous points decision.

In Texas, the American broke history, earning the most championship wins in the history of the sport, though, many believed that the win was not nearly as convincing or as obvious as the judges deemed it to be.

There is no denying that it was a close contest, and perhaps it was so close even the judges got the end result wrong?

The first round alone showed us just how dangerous of an opponent Reyes can be. The previously undefeated fighter knocked Jones down with a well-timed blow to the stomach, and he even looked much the livelier in the second as well.

In turn, Jones’ fight experience seemed to take its toll on his opponent.

'Bones' went on to knockdown Reyes twice in the fight and ultimately claimed his record-breaking 14th championship victory and retain his light heavyweight crown.

Two of the three judges inside the Toyota Center deemed it to be a close fight, but edged the contest in favour of the belt holder, scoring it 48-47.

There was one judge in particular, though, that defied many and scored the bout 49-46 well in favour of Jones.

This outraged many fans online and even Joe Rogan. Plenty of UFC supporters took to Twitter to relay their frustrations, but one fan went one further than that.

A YouTuber decided to make a comprehensive breakdown video of exactly why Reyes ought to have won the contest.

The 16-minute long guide made by a channel named ‘TheWeasle’ has over 80,000 views and over 3,000 likes.

The video starts by addressing Reyes’ dominant start and owes a lot of credit to his clever footwork and counter movement to combat Jones’ style in which he likes to dominate the centre of the Octagon.

Ultimately, the YouTuber claimed – after his extensive analysis – that Reyes ought to have won the fight by at least one point, believing him to take, at least, the first three of the five rounds
