Dwayne Johnson's daughter Simone has confirmed that she's started training with WWE.

The 18-year-old becomes the fourth generation of her family to be involved in the sport after starting her training at the Performance Center.

Her father 'The Rock' is one of WWE's greatest ever performers, spending nearly a decade with the company before establishing himself as a Hollywood superstar.

Rocky Johnson, Simone's grandfather, also left a lasting legacy in WWE before passing away last month.

He and his tag team partner Tony Atlas became the first black champions in history when they won the World Tag Team titles in 1983.

Peter Maiva, who would have been Simone's great-grandfather, wrestled in the 1970s.

Thanks to the history of her family, Simone will become WWE's first-ever fourth-generation superstar, should she make it to the ring one day.

As of this week, she's reporting for training at the company's Performance Center and released the following statement:

"It means the world to me.

"To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle but to carry on that legacy."

Triple H, WWE's executive vice president of Talent, Live Events and Creative, has also spoken regarding Simone's arrival.

"Simone Johnson’s unbridled passion and incredible drive has earned her a coveted spot training with the elite athletes from around the world at the WWE Performance Center.

"Not only does Simone now have an opportunity to cultivate and display her passion for WWE within the Performance Center, but she’ll carry on the tradition of her incredible family lineage while creating her own impact as WWE’s first fourth-generation superstar."

With three generations ahead of her, Simone seems made for the business and it will be very exciting to see if she'll one day go on to have similar success to her father.
