Every Liverpool player has been ranked on their performances this season

This Liverpool side has been absolutely incredible this season.

Twenty-four wins from 25 matches, 73 points from a possible 75, 22 points clear. Whichever way you look at it, Jurgen Klopp’s side have been unbelievable.

That’s before we even mention the fact they’ve already won the Super Cup and the Club World Cup. Oh, and they’re also still in the FA Cup and Champions League.

But who has been the club’s best player this season?

Ask five Liverpool fans that very question and you won’t be surprised to hear five different answers.

That’s what makes this Liverpool squad so good. While they have world-class stars, they are a proper team.

It’s hard to separate the players when asked to name the best but it’s easier when you take into account player ratings from every match.

That’s what the Liverpool Echo have done.

After each Premier League game, they give every player a rating out of 10.

And they’ve now worked out the average for each player which, in theory, allows us to rank the entire Liverpool squad from worst to best this season.

Players need to have played in 10 or more matches to feature, hence why there are only 16 players.

Let’s take a look at the results:

16 | Adam Lallana | 6.43

In what appears to be his final season at Anfield, Lallana has made 13 appearances in the Premier League. If Liverpool go unbeaten this season, though, he will always be remembered for THAT late equaliser at Old Trafford against Manchester United.

=14 | Adrian | 6.50

He probably didn’t expect to feature in the Premier League this season after signing. Within minutes of the opening match, he was on in place of Alisson, after the Brazilian injured his calf.

He remained between the sticks until October when Alisson returned but was once again called upon after Liverpool’s No.1 was sent off against Brighton.

Has proven to be a fantastic free transfer signing.

14 | Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain | 6.50

Perhaps surprising to see Oxlade-Chamberlain so low in the scoring.

Has perhaps impressed more in the Champions League than in the Premier League, but has still played an important role in the club’s incredible run.

13 | Divock Origi | 6.70

Hasn’t had too many opportunities behind Mohamad Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. Three goals in 20 appearances for Origi but he’s the ultimate clutch player and you wouldn’t put it past him scoring the goal that officially wins Liverpool the title.

12 | Andy Robertson | 6.80

Now here’s a surprise.

At times, Robertson hasn’t quite looked the same player as last season. Perhaps down to the fact that he plays pretty much every match and doesn’t stop running.

11 | Georginio Wijnaldum | 6.91

He deserves more.

Wijnaldum is one of the most underrated players in this squad and has missed just one league match this season.

Incredible in tight spaces and rarely gives the ball away.

10 | James Milner | 6.92

33-years-old and still one of the most reliable performers in this Liverpool squad. Can fill in at either full-back position or in midfield.

What a professional.

9 | Trent Alexander-Arnold | 6.92

Sums up just how good Liverpool have been this season that Alexander-Arnold finds himself in ninth.

He scored a perfect 10/10 when he produced three assists and scored during Liverpool’s 4-0 win against Leicester.

Has been questioned at times defensively but you simply can’t question his ability on the ball.

=7 | Fabinho | 7.00

Has missed a large chunk of the season with his recent injury but before that, was playing brilliantly in that defensive midfield position.

His opener against Manchester City was a massive moment in the title race.

7 | Alisson | 7.00

Missed the first few months of the season with his calf injury but is now back in the hunt for the Golden Glove with nine clean sheets to his name.

Has established himself as the best goalkeeper in the world.

6 | Mohamed Salah | 7.05

Still in contention for his third consecutive Golden Boot.

Salah has been in sensational form in recent weeks in the absence of Sadio Mane.

5 | Jordan Henderson | 7.14

Only fifth for captain fantastic.

He’s filled in brilliantly for Fabinho in the No.6 role in recent weeks - a role many Liverpool fans didn’t think he could play.

He’s getting his trophy lift shuffle ready.

=3 | Roberto Firmino | 7.17

It’s extraordinary that Firmino hasn’t scored at Anfield yet.

But ignore that statistic because the Brazilian has been so good this season. He’s allowed Salah and Mane to flourish and has also chipped in with vital winners himself.
