MMA stars transitioning to the world of sports entertainment is nothing new - there has been a long line of them who have successfully cracked the code.

Ken Shamrock was the most successful in the early days, and in more recent times, the likes of Matt Riddle, Ronda Rousey and Cain Velasquez have come to WWE.

And now another star who is held in as high esteem as Rousey and Velasquez has expressed an interest in coming over to work for Vince McMahon - Jon Jones.

Following his latest victory over Dominick Reyes at UFC 247, Jones admitted that it's 'inevitable' that he will one day make it over into WWE.

The light heavyweight champion is running out of challengers after dispatching of Reyes, and has not been awfully keen on moving up to the heavyweight division in recent times.

Jones has the size, athleticism and the charisma to be a big player in WWE, and no doubt there would be a lot of money thrown at him if he was to express a serious formal interest.

WWE stars were always going to have something to say about his comments though, and one of the top faces of the company - Becky Lynch - has obliged, and she isn't happy.

“Inevitable? That is a pretty big word," the Raw Women's Champion told ESPN's Marc Raimondi during a media event for WrestleMania 37's location reveal.

"Look, I think people think that this is a cakewalk, there is nothing like what we do. And it’s not as simple as just walking in here. You have to make a name for yourself, and you have to obsessed with it, you have to love this.

This isn’t a thing where you have one fight every six months, this is a thing where you are fighting three, four, sometimes seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.

“For people to sometimes think that it’s an easy thing that they can just stroll into, it kind of irks me. It irks me, it does. Because I love this business, I love it more than anything.

"And if he loves it like I do, well then come along, I’ll show you the ropes. But if he just wants to make some easy money, this ain’t the way to do it.”

It's clear to see that 'The Man' doesn't want potential cross-over stars to think that they have an easy ride in the business.

Rousey put in a lot of hard work to be full-time for the best part of a year, although she is currently on an extended hiatus.

Will Jones be willing to put in the work to become a big-time WWE star? Only time will tell...
