Cristiano Ronaldo has single-handedly transformed the Juventus brand since arriving in 2018

Cristiano Ronaldo is a superstar. Wherever he goes, football fans will follow. 

At Real Madrid, he was arguably the greatest ‘Galactico’ of the modern era and many expected the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to finish his career in Spain. 

But in 2018 he embarked on a new adventure by joining Juventus in Serie A – and what an impact he’s had. 

On the pitch, Ronaldo continues to shine with 51 goals in 71 appearances for the Bianconeri.

Two trophies were also secured in his first season and more could follow at the conclusion of this campaign. 

Ronaldo’s contribution off the pitch shouldn’t be understated either.

In less than two years, he’s completely transformed Juventus’ brand and is proving he’s the most profitable player in history.

On Tuesday, the Turin club announced the expansion of their sponsorship with Allianz, which now totals €103.1 million (£85m). 

Their new deal runs until 2030 and is worth €10.3m per season. That’s pretty ridiculous money, but they’re not the only sponsor to renew with Juve since Ronaldo’s arrival. 

Per AS, Adidas have improved their offer to manufacture the club’s kit because they want to be linked with CR7.

That deal is now worth €51m annually, while before 2018, it was worth just €23.25m.

Talking of kits, thanks to having Ronaldo’s name on the back of them, shirt sales alone are now worth over €100m to the Bianconeri.

That puts them in the same bracket as the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United as the most popular in the world. 

On top of that, Jeep have also upped their sponsorship contributions to Juventus. Pre-Ronaldo, they paid around €17m per year, but last season contributed up to €42m. 

For one footballer to have such a massive effect on his club’s brand is usually unimaginable, but this is Ronaldo

That €105m Juventus paid to secure his move from Madrid in 2018 is certainly looking like money well spent.
