Manchester United's top 50 players in their history have been ranked

FBL-ENG-PORT-MAN UTD

Manchester United supporters have had the pleasure of watching some great players over the years.

Okay, maybe not so much today. Jesse Lingard and Phil Jones? Ouch.

But from the 1950s to the 2010s, some of the world’s finest players have put on the red shirt and shined at Old Trafford.

Bobby Charlton won three First Division titles. Dennis Law won the Ballon d’Or in 1964. George Best was a mercurial talent.

In more recent times, you’ve got the likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Eric Cantona and of course, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Fans have been voting for the best players in the club’s storied history and the results are very interesting.

With close to 10,000 votes on Ranker, Wayne Rooney doesn’t make the top five, David Beckham is 13th and Ryan Giggs comes second.

Here are the top 50 players in Man United's history.

Porto v Manchester United - UEFA Champions League

No surprises about Ronaldo coming out on top.

For a club as prestigious as United it’s interesting that the likes of Memphis, Romero and Kagawa get in at the back end of the top 50, especially over the likes of Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister and Phil Neville.

Van Persie does well to get in the top 20 considering he played for the club for just three seasons and won a single Premier League title.

Gary Neville spent his entire career at Man United, won eight league titles, and finds himself in 21st.

Sorry, Gary. You’ve been hard done by there.
