Floyd Mayweather's 2017 super-fight with Conor Mcgregor was one of the highest-grossing nights in the history of combat sports. The build-up to the bout was unlike anything we have ever seen before with both parties amassing armies of fans to rally behind them.A sea of Irish faithful flooded across the Atlantic to support McGregor and made themselves well and truly known ahead of the Nevada showdown. In the end, though, Mayweather did what he does best, dictating the terms of the fight to pull off what was a comfortable win via stoppage. However, since that summer bout, rumours of a rematch simply won't go away with both fighters tentatively circling the idea.

According to recent comments made by Mayweather, a rematch is a very real possibility, but it could be on a scale that the sporting world has never even dreamed of.

That is because Mayweather pitched a sensational idea to UFC boss Dana White that would include him fighting both McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov on the same day.

That's right, Mayweather wants to take on two of the biggest names in MMA in the same 24-hour period.

Absolute madness.

It is an intriguing idea and you can be sure there would be millions of people lining up to cough up that $250 to see it happen.

There is no questioning it would eclipse anything pay-per-view sport has ever known but the sheer physical toll it would take on Mayweather would have to be a massive concern.

McGregor and Khabib are brawlers and fighting them both on the same day would be absolutely exhausting.

Still, you'd think that if anyone would be capable of it, it would be Mayweather and, while we have our doubts such an event could ever happen, we're all for the idea.

The obscene levels of income it would generate would surely be tempting for White, who is continually looking for ways to grow the UFC brand.

A doubleheader with the biggest name in boxing may not be the worst place to start.
