Lautaro Martinez is currently one of the most sought-after strikers in world football.

After an indifferent first season with Inter Milan, the Argentine beast has exploded into life in 2019/20.

The former Racing Club man has formed a lethal strike partnership with Romelu Lukaku, scoring 11 goals in his 20 Serie A games this campaign.

Naturally, his form - combined with his outrageous natural talent and flair - has seen his name linked with Europe's big hitters.

Barcelona have already earmarked Martinez as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez, but the Blaugrana could be beaten to the punch by their eternal rivals Real Madrid.

According to Argentine publication TyC Sports, Los Blancos are ready to activate Martinez's €111m release clause at Inter.

The report states that Real Madrid have also prepared a contract offer, which will include a salary of €14m-per-year.

Prior to Martinez joining Inter for €25m, the Argentine starlet told TyC that Real had shown interest in him.

"I've had a lot of offers, and they [Madrid] wanted to speak to me," he said, per AS.

He'd be some signing for Real and a serious middle finger to Barcelona in the process - the definition of a win-win situation.

However, should the deal materialise, it could spell the end for Luka Jovic, with the Serbian striker struggling to settle in Spain's capital.

But given the fact Jovic is still just 22 and Karim Benzema is approaching the twilight years of his career, the former Eintracht Frankfurt man may have a small chance of remaining on Real's books.

If Jovic were to stay, it would be interesting to see how Zidane would mastermind a way to keep all three strikers at the club happy.

Could the manager shoehorn two of the trio into one starting XI, along with Eden Hazard? It would be a tough task, but that's why Zidane gets paid the big bucks.
