John Cena is set to return to WWE soon in time for the road to WrestleMania, and reports have linked him with facing one of two superstars at the event.

It was announced this week that John Cena will be returning to WWE later this month on the February 28 edition of SmackDown, one night after Super ShowDown.

It’s currently unclear as to what role the 16-time world champion will have on the show, but he could be setting up his match at WrestleMania 36 on April 5.

As for who he would be facing at the Showcase of Immortals later this year, two superstars are reportedly in contention.

According to WrestleVotes, four big names are tied together ahead of WrestleMania 36; Cena, Roman Reigns, Goldberg, and Universal Champion Bray Wyatt.

WrestleVotes added if Wyatt is booked to face Reigns at the show, then Cena could face Goldberg.

However, if The Big Dog faces the WCW icon at WrestleMania instead, then the 16-time world champion could go for world title 17 against The Fiend.

Cena vs Wyatt? Cena vs Goldberg? Those sound like fantastic matches for WrestleMania!

Wyatt will be defending the Universal Championship at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia on February 27 against Goldberg.

Most reports state The Fiend will win this match and go on to face Reigns at WrestleMania, possibly earning his shot after winning a number one contenders match for the Universal title at Elimination Chamber next month.

However, it looks like The Leader of the Cenation could have a chance to earn a spot against the Universal Champion on the show as well.

Cena is reportedly being allowed to decide what he wants to do at this year’s Showcase of Immortals, so we’ll have to wait and see what he decides to do.

We’ll probably get a better idea as to what WWE has planned for Cena, Wyatt, Goldberg, and Reigns once Super ShowDown is in the books later this month.
