VAR struck again as it ruled out Willy Boly’s opening goal for Wolves in their game against Leicester City on Friday evening.Boly headed home to make it 1-0 to the hosts but his goal was ruled out by VAR as Pedro Neto was adjudged to have been offside by a matter of inches in the build-up to the goal.

Not a week goes by without VAR causing controversy.

A number of fans thought the ruling was harsh and Wolves’ captain Conor Coady expressed his dissatisfaction in an exchange with referee Mike Dean at half-time.

Footage of Coady confronting the official after the half-time whistle went was shown on TV and mics picked up their exchange.

Coady seemingly asked Dean: “So who’s offside?”, to which the referee replied by saying he didn’t know but that he had received the message through his earpiece.

The Wolves defender then said: “Nobody knows? So you’re reffing the game and you don’t know?”

VAR has proven to be the biggest talking point in the Premier League this season and Boly is the latest victim of the controversial system.

There have been calls to scrap the technology but they were put to bed earlier in the month by Premier League chief executive Richard Masters.

Instead of removing VAR, Masters says it needs to be improved.

"I don't think VAR has been damaging but I accept it needs improvement," Masters told BBC Sport.

Scrapping it is not an option - what we have to do is try and make VAR better.

Masters said that the Premier League would discuss how to improve the system with clubs in April.

Wolves will no doubt be among the clubs with plenty to say.
