WWE news: Dolph Ziggler becomes WWE's biggest heel by stealing Otis' date with Mandy Rose on SmackDown

Otis and Mandy Rose's 'relationship' looks to be in jeopardy

SmackDown may not be on top form right now when it comes to an entertaining product, but there's one storyline that is head and shoulders above everything else.

It's got the whole WWE Universe drawn in and invested - and we surprisingly aren't talking about the long-running feud between Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin.

WWE needed an organic love story after the forced angle between Lana and Bobby Lashley that fans had to endure for the latter part of 2019, and we got something incredibly entertaining in the form of Otis and Mandy Rose.

Not only does the pairing work as the two are close in real life - as evidenced by Otis dressing up as her for a Battle Royal in his NXT days - but it helps that Otis is an incredibly entertaining human.

Otis and Mandy Rose have become a popular pairing for WWE fans

No offence to Tucker, but Otis has carried the Heavy Machinery pairing during its main roster run, and the romance angle with Mandy has seen his popularity rise to new heights.

The segments in recent weeks were all building up to Otis and Mandy's date on the Valentines Day episode of SmackDown last night - but there ended up being an unwelcome intruder.

Just as Otis showed up for the date, Dolph Ziggler rocked up and ended taking his place at the table.

Otis was left raging after Dolph Ziggler stole his date with Mandy Rose

Ziggler and Otis have history from weeks gone by - the Show-Off stepped on the cake that was presented to Mandy by Otis weeks ago but the big man never got his revenge.

And to add insult to injury, big Dozer spotted the two together as he walked in with a bunch of red roses, and the sight of them was just too much to handle.

The response on social media to the segment has made Ziggler arguably the biggest heel in the business right now, and one can only imagine that a match is coming between Otis and Dolph in the near future.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a huge pay-off at WrestleMania, which sees Otis last eliminating Dolph in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal?

We could then have a Randy Savage/Miss Elizabeth type moment where Otis embraces Mandy and then lifts her onto his shoulders in celebration - it would certainly be an epic moment!
