Conor McGregor could be on the brink of a sensational return to the boxing ring and a fight against legend Manny Pacquiao after it was announced that the latter had signed with the same management company.

Notorious had previously climbed into the ring in August 2017 to face another pound-for-pound superstar Floyd Mayweather, in which Mayweather won via TKO in the 10th round.

This has not put Irishman off another potential boxing fight against another all time great, however, and things seem to be accelerating forwards with the news that broke earlier this week.

On Tuesday it was announced that Pacquiao, the only boxer to ever become and eight-division world champion, had signed a contract with Paradigm Sports Management, the same company that represents Irishman McGregor.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has added further fuel to the fire by stating he believes that the fight will happen and that UFC will sanction the bout.

When asked what is in store for both fighters now they both sit in the same stable, Rogan said: “That’s probably what they’re gonna do. Manny Pacquiao/Conor McGregor. That’s probably what the UFC wants to try and do.”

With many fans and pundits predicting a fight between two superstars of their own specialities, YouTuber ThelgorotWarrior07 has simulated the potential fight on EA Sports Fight Night and posted the outcome online.

The Filipino fighter flew out of the blocks and landed a brutal knockdown in the first round, stunning the Irish MMA star.

McGregor, however, did climb off of the canvas and connected with some solid shots of his own, including a strong left hand and a body shot, which physically shook the veteran.

Soon after the start of the second round, the 41-year-old legend landed another crucial shot, this time a strong left uppercut connecting with McGregor's chin and forcing another knockdown for the Irishman to contend with.

To his credit, Notorious climbed back to his feet again, ready and willing to fight on.

That was until a minute or so later, when Pacquiao caught McGregor with a left hook, followed a few seconds later by a strong right hand which knocked the Irishman off his feet again, and duly ended the fight.

Fans are understandably excited about this potential super-fight, and if it does go ahead in a boxing ring, we could well see the simulation prediction come to reality.

However, if it happens in the Octagon, then we could see a very different outcome.
