Norwich City, the Premier League’s bottom side, gave Liverpool a tougher game than most were expecting on Saturday evening.

But despite their best efforts, Jurgen Klopp’s side eventually found the breakthrough thanks to a brilliant 78th-minute goal from second-half substitute Sadio Mane.

Mane took down Henderson’s long pass on his right foot before lashing the ball past Tim Krul with his left. It was a superb finish from the Senegalese winger, who now has 100 goals in English football to his name.

Liverpool now find themselves 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, although second-placed Manchester City will reduce the deficit back to 22 points if they defeat West Ham on Wednesday night.

Even if Pep Guardiola’s men do beat the Hammers, it seems inevitable that Liverpool will wrap up the Premier League title over the coming weeks.

Five more wins and they’ll be crowned champions of England for the first time since 1990.

Following their latest win, a graphic flashed up on TV showing the top-flight records that Liverpool are now rapidly approaching.

Liverpool are now on an incredible 43-match unbeaten streak. If they avoid defeat in their next seven fixtures they will beat the record set by Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ between May 2003 and October 2004.

They were also one win away from equally the 18-game winning streak set by Manchester City between August-December 2017.

The Reds have now won eight away games on the spin, which leaves them three away from the Premier League record.

They’ve also won 20 consecutive league games at Anfield, which means they’re just one victory away from matching their own record, which was set back in 1972.

And, of course, they're also set to smash the record for most points in a Premier League season.

Man City broke the record during the 2017-18 campaign, becoming the first team to seal 100 points.

But Liverpool could end up smashing that record. The way they're going, you wouldn't bet against them.

Even if you’re not a Liverpool fan, you have to take your hat off and respect what Klopp’s team are currently achieving.

We’re witnessing greatness.

This team will be talked about for many years to come, and who knows what they will eventually go on to achieve from here.
