Tiger Woods hits abysmal four-putt at Genesis Invitational, sparking rumours that his chances of a successful Masters defence in Augusta are greatly depleted due to heightened ‘physical toll’.Woods appeared to spiral into meltdown on the 13th green of the Riviera course in Los Angeles, during the tournament Woods himself was hosting.Throughout the entirety of his career, Woods has rarely four-putted; until recently, in which he has done so twice in as many tournaments – it was the Farmers Insurance Open, his last outing, that he four-putted the first green held at Torrey Pines.Woods has not made two four-putts in a season since 1998 – just his second full professional season.Woods is no spring chicken, as it were, and has even claimed himself that his intentions were to peak at the Masters set for April in which he is due to defend his Green Jacket at Augusta National.Due to ever growing reports relating to the veteran golfer’s physical health, he has since decided to skip playing in next week’s WGC-Mexico Championship; likely in order to rest up and rehab any potential niggles leading into April’s Masters event.Woods went on to explain his decision to bypass Mexico and stated that he was feeling a “little rundown” and thought it best to not force himself into competition two weeks in a row just yet. The 15-time Major champion stated: “I feel stiff, but I have weeks like that, especially in the cold mornings like it was the other day.”

He then stated he doesn't quite move as well and that’s just kind of how it’s going to go.

Woods, in recent years, has had a torrid time in the public eye, both on and off the grass, however, to his credit, managed to bury his struggles to win his fifth Green Jacket in front of current girlfriend, mother and two children.

The seasoned golfer explained that his schedule for 2020 would be fairly light, as it was last year – playing just 15 times, including the Presidents Cup, due to his ongoing struggles with his back – he underwent spinal fusion surgery nearly two years ago.

He stated: “I won’t play a lot more than that just because of the physical toll, and I want to stay out here for just a little bit longer.”
