Barcelona clinched their third league victory on the bounce as they moved level on points with Real Madrid at the top of La Liga on Saturday. The Catalan giants played host to Getafe and despite Angel Rodriguez pulling one back for the visitors in the second half, earlier goals from Antoine Griezmann and Sergi Roberto sealed a 2-1 win. However, the game also marked Lionel Messi's fourth league game without a goal. The Ballon d'Or winner last found the net in Spain's top flight just under a month ago, bagging the only goal in Barca's 1-0 victory over Granada. And after failing to find the net this weekend, Messi is experiencing his longest La Liga goal drought in six years.

Rewind to January 2014 and the Argentine went on an eight-game run without finding the net.

Messi is still way off hitting that number this time around as he looks to end the drought when Barca face Eibar next weekend.

However, despite his recent goal scoring woes, it hasn't stopped the striker from proving why he's the world's best, that's for sure.

That's because Messi has racked up six assists out of a possible seven in the last four games.

An incredible stat.

That moves Messi up to 12 assists in 19 appearances this campaign and one more will equal his tally from last season.

Take a look at his assist from yesterday's win below:

On top of that, Messi was also handed two 10/10 ratings and three man of the match titles by WhoScored too.

And despite being quiet in front of goal of late, the 32-year-old remains the league's top scorer with 14 strikes to his name.

Messi and Barcelona will now be hoping for a Real Madrid slip-up tonight as their rivals look to regain their three-point cushion when they host Celta Vigo.
