Ashley Young has just scored his first goal for Inter Milan in their Serie A clash against Lazio. The former Manchester United man gave Antonio Conte's side the lead just before half-time with a well-taken half-volley.Young, 34, recorded an assist in his first appearance for the Italian giants and it seems he's enjoying something of a revival at the San Siro.

Incredible.

It must be increasingly difficult for Man United supporters to watch on as their former players shine elsewhere.

Young's teammate at Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku, has been a hit in Italy. He entered the game against Lazio with 17 goals in 22 league starts.

And with a goal and an assist in four matches, it seems like Young is enjoying life away from Old Trafford as well.

Chris Smalling is also playing well at AS Roma and the Italian club want to make his loan move from Man United permanent.

After completing his move to Inter, Young admitted that that Conte played a huge part in his decision to leave England.

"He wanted me a couple of years ago at Chelsea and he's a fantastic manager," Young told Sky in Italy.

"He's won trophies and he's got an ambition to want to achieve things. I want to do that as well, I want to achieve here at Inter.

"I want to win trophies, I want to win titles and with a manager like that, you want to go out there and fight for him."

Competing for titles just wasn't an option at Man United.

The Red Devils haven't been champions of England since 2013 and appear to be considerably behind Liverpool and Manchester City right now.

So it's no surprise that Young decided to leave the club and join a team in contention to win the Serie A title.

His time at Man United had run its course but Young has certainly landed in the perfect spot.
