Britain's Jodi Ewart Shadoff was unable to capitalise on a halfway lead in the Australia Open as Inbee Park came from behind to take the victory.

South Korea’s Park was tied with Ewart Shadoff after round two at ten under par but the English golfer was unable to keep up in round three.

The 31-year-old South Korean was then able to hold off a final-day surge from American Amy Olson, that saw her lead collapse from seven to two, to win her first LPGA Tour title in two years by two shots.

Seven-time major champion, Inbee Park’s Australian Open victory was her 20th LPGA tour victory and her 14-under total beat second-placed Olson by three.

Park’s last victory on the LPGA Tour came at the Bank of Hope Founders Cup in March 2018. This will be the next stop for the 2020 tour after coronavirus fears caused the cancellations of tournaments in Thailand, Singapore and China.

"It was a tough day out there today, really different to the last three days I played," Park told LPGA after sealing the victory.

"It has been a while since I played in Australia, it's been eight years since I played here so I'm really happy to be back here playing in front of Australian fans and to hold the trophy is even more special."

However, England’s Jodi Ewart Shadoff was unable to keep in touching distance of the South Korean after leading at the half-way point. Her final-round score of 72 meant she was only able to finish in tenth place at seven-under-par.
