Manchester United defender Harry Maguire escaped a red card during the Red Devils' Premier League contest against Chelsea on Monday evening. The England international caught Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi in a very sensitive area right in front of the Blues' technical area.Maguire wasn't even shown a card but many feel as though he deserved to be dismissed.

Fans were quick to react on Twitter.

Among them was former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who clearly expected Maguire to be sent for an early bath.

"Red," Fabregas wrote on Twitter.

Former Man United midfielder Roy Keane thought Maguire deserved to go.

“He's very lucky. A very lucky boy," Keane said on Sky Sports at half-time.

"Maguire, maybe because it's his personality, he seems like a calm lad, he definitely kicks out. I think they look at it and ask if he's a nasty player.”

If Chelsea fans thought they were hard done by, they felt even worse when Anthony Martial put Man United ahead in the 45th minute.

The Frenchman placed a perfect header past Willy Caballero in the Chelsea net to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side the advantage.

These are, of course, two teams battling it out for an automatic Champions League spot.

Chelsea entered the game in fourth place and were looking to cement their spot in the top four.

For Man United, they have a bit more work to do. They started the day in nine points, but not out of the race.
