Storm Dennis hit a hat-trick of games on Sunday, as the poor weather conditions caused three of the games to be called off.

Arsenal vs Lewes, Leicester vs Reading, and, Crystal Palace vs Brighton, was forced to be postponed to a later date following crowd safety and weather precautions.

"This decision has been taken due to crowd safety issues relating to the current weather conditions and Sunday's forecast," said a statement on Arsenal.com.

Arsenal have rescheduled their fourth-round draw against Lewes for the 23rd of February, Leicester will play Reading on the 20th of February, and Crystal Palace will play Brighton on the 25th of February.

Despite three of the games being postponed due to Storm Dennis, Manchester City was able to host Ipswich Town and Sunderland were able to face Birmingham City.

Manchester City vs Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town who is a fourth-tier side bowed out of the prestigious competition to Manchester City after they conceded 10 goals.

With the underdogs looking to the challenge as being "a very exciting time for the club", they were most definitely not disheartened about facing the Women's Super League club: Manchester City - who are also the holders of the Women's FA Cup.

"All of the girls are buzzing to play some of the top Lionesses," said Amanda Crump.

Pauline Bremer, Jess Park, and Georgia Stanway all scored hat-tricks for the fully professional side.

Manchester City started England youth international Jess Park, after scoring a hat-trick on Sunday it is clear to see the work that the youngster has been putting in on the training pitch.

With 400 visiting fans backing the Suffolk side, they were able to witness a "magical" game that ultimately ended their FA Cup run.

Goalscorer Pauline Bremer stated that: "there’s a long way to go. We have to take each game at a time, especially the games where on paper you should be dominant, sometimes these are the hardest".

Birmingham City vs Sunderland

Birmingham City travelled to the home of third-tier side Sunderland - who impressed the visitors with their committed defence, despite losing 1-0.

Sunderland who were semi-finalists in 2016, were showing their determination and excellence by pressurising top-flight club Birmingham City.

The Blue's were unable to break the deadlock until the 85th minute. English international Lucy Staniforth showed her world-class quality with a free-kick from a range that managed to make the difference.

Shortly after, Birmingham was down to 10 players as Staniforth celebrated her goal in front of a Sunderland fan which somehow resulted in her receiving a red card. The Sunderland fan was also removed from the game after the referee ordered the steward to do so.

Despite the Black Cats being out of the Women's FA Cup, they are heading towards promotion in the Championship under manager Melanie Copeland who is also the cousin of former England captain Alan Shearer.

"They have held their own against a WSL One team and I couldn’t have asked for any more. We are on a terrific run of form and the club is heading in the right direction again after a difficult couple of years," stated Copeland who has recently been drafted in to help England manager Phil Neville.
