Harry Maguire told his brother before the game exactly how he'd score in Chelsea 0-2 Man United

Harry Maguire predicted he'd score against Chelsea.

Harry Maguire certainly had a notable evening as Manchester United beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The England international was the talk of the first 45 after escaping what some felt was a clear red card.

After clearing the ball out of play, Maguire stumbled over, with Michi Batshuayi following him as they went off the pitch.

But as the Belgian fell towards him, Maguire appeared to thrust his foot up into his opponent's groin.

Nothing was given by the referee and VAR decided it wasn't worth a red, either, so Maguire 'escaped'.

In the second half, the United defender made sure everyone was talking about that decision as he headed home his side's second goal.

It was his first Premier League goal for the club and one that sealed the win and United's league double over the Blues.

And as it turned out afterwards, Maguire saw this coming - the goal part, anyway.

His brother Laurence - himself a professional footballer with Chesterfield - posted some messages Harry had sent him before the game.

Harry Maguire's goal helped secure a league double over Chelsea.

Laurence told Harry 'Set pieces every chance you get tonight', to which he replied that he'd score against Chelsea from a corner.

Which as it turned out, is exactly what happened.

So props to Harry for calling it, really.

Unless, of course, he sends the same thing every week and Laurence doesn't post those...

The win for United means they're now just three points behind 4th-placed Chelsea in the race for the Champions League spots.

What has frequently looked like an awful season for the club might just turn out to be a reasonably successful one - especially if Manchester City are out of the running those spots.
