Santi Cazorla is a true Arsenal legend.

The Spaniard only spent six years at the club, but in that time he delivered consistent world-class performances and helped keep the team in European competition during the latter stages of Arsene Wenger's reign.

At his best, Cazorla was one of world football's elite playmakers and he even excelled in a deeper role towards the end of his Arsenal career.

On October 16, 2016, Cazorla sadly played his last game for Arsenal after picking up an Achilles injury which versus Ludogorets, one that would go on to nearly end his career as a professional footballer.

The Spaniard bid farewell to the Gunners at the end of the 2017/18 season and he has always remarked that he never got to say goodbye to the supporters properly.

Well, there is a chance that Cazorla may be able to rectify that.

Per football.london, Arsenal are working on a way to make his dream become a reality, but the club are aware that while he is still contract to Villarreal, that will be a difficult thing to achieve.

However, there is a willing among the Arsenal hierarchy to give Cazorla the Emirates Stadium send-off he deserves.

Whether that sees him don the famous red and white jersey again is another matter entirely, but that is likely the primary objective of the mission.

Arsenal journalist James Benge tweeted in response to the report: "Arsenal will explore ways to give Santi Cazorla one last run-out at the Emirates Stadium though it's a bit complicated, particularly as he has expressed a desire to pull on the red shirt again."

If the club can pull it off, supporters will be forever grateful.

Cazorla would also be able to turn on the style if he were afforded a game in an Arsenal shirt at the Emirates.

In 2019/29 for Villarreal, the 35-year-old midfielder has scored eight goals and assisted five more in just 21 La Liga games.

He's still one of the best midfielders in the Spanish top-flight and Arsenal fans deserve to see those magical touches and passes one more time.

A meaningless friendly or a charity game would more than suffice!
