Conor McGregor's fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018 went down in infamy after the Irishman unexpectedly tapped out to hand Khabib the win. However, it was the astonishing scenes in the aftermath of the bout that fight fans will remember more clearly after both got caught up in an ugly mass-brawlKhabib fully hurdled the cage, plunging into the audience to take on Dillon Danis as the police were forced to get involved.Meanwhile, in the ring, McGregor was under attack form at least two members of Khabibs team in a scene that resembled a bonkers bar brawl straight off the reel of an old western movie.Ultimately, three arrests were made but McGregor chose not to press charges in the end, choosing rather to try and forget everything that had happened that night.

However, footage has emerged recently of a particular moment that McGregor might not want to forget all too soon.

As he defended himself during the post-fight fracas, McGregor was caught absolutely clocking one of Khabib's team, very nearly sending him to the canvas in a matter of seconds.

You can see the moment in the video below:

Boom - what a hit, son, what a hit.

Conor may have just lost one of the biggest fights of his career but he was still up for a rumble with whoever wanted it.

What makes this footage even sweeter is that the man McGregor got hold of, Zubaira Tukhugov, actually took to Twitter in the aftermath of the altercation to convince his fans that he had 'slapped' up the Irishman.

“I slapped him as promised. I promised to make him answer for his words and I did."

Not quite what the footage would suggest, is it?

How embarrassing.

Since that iconic night in 2018, McGregor took a hiatus from the Octagon, recently making his return in an underwhelming match-up with Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone.

Both he and Khabib have been circling the idea of a rematch but, with other more pressing commitments to focus on, it could be a while yet before anyone gets their wish.
