Cody Rhodes has named Jack Evens as the most under-rated performer on AEW's roster. The promotion's executive vice president made the claim while speaking to GIVEMESPORT and other members of the wrestling media during a conference call on Tuesday evening. "Underrated is a dirty word to me because sometimes it means 'under-pushed' or 'under-valued'," Rhodes said. "But if you're just taking the word at face value, I think the most underrated guy in AEW is Jack Evans."[He] walks around backstage super-casual, and I don't think that people are aware of what he's capable of in the ring, what he's already done in the ring. He's just special.

"He's somebody that I always say, 'I'd like to get into singles with Jack.' I don't know if he knows how much we value him, but Jack Evans is very underrated."

That's very high praise from Cody. Perhaps one day soon we'll see the two share a ring in AEW and by the sounds of it, Evans could be made to look very strong if that happens.

His career so far - despite being 'underrated' - has been impressive.

Evens has worked the independent circuit since 2003, performing for promotions including Ring of Honor, TNA and Lucha Libre AAA before signing for AEW.

Going forward, he'll want to start winning gold to establish himself as one of the best on the roster and with high praise from Rhodes behind him, surely it will only be a matter of time.

While AEW's executive vice president was putting Evans over during a conference call on Tuesday, he went on to Dynamite the following night and faced Wardlow in the promotion's first-ever steel cage match.

That was also Wardlow's debut and it was an important match for Cody too, who won to secure a shot at MJF on the AEW Revolution PPV on February 29th.
