Liverpool wing wizard target Valentin Stocker is reportedly closing on a move to Bayern Munich.

The Swiss international has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe, with Liverpool and Aston Villa leading the charge from the Barclays Premier League.

A star in the Swiss Super League with FC Basel, Stocker is contracted to his current club until 2014 after graduating into the first team back in 2007.

However, the 21-year-old is widely anticipated to leave the club at the end of the season and talkSPORT claims Bayern Munich have 'jumped ahead' in the race to land the player.

The website goes on to claim that officials from the club are confident they can 'snatch' the player from under their competitors grasp, with both Liverpool and Villa set to miss out.

Both clubs will be disappointed to learn the news, although Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has a string of wingers on their radar if reports are to be believed.

Ashley Young, Eden Hazard and Sylvan Marveaux have all emerged as potential targets for the Merseysiders, with Dalglish poised to spend big at Liverpool in the summer.

With NESV set to back the manager financially, there could be a number of changes at Liverpool immediately after the season ends.
