Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp seems to be loved by everybody in English football.

Even hardcore rival fans who are having nightmares about Liverpool winning the Premier League have a secret soft spot for their head coach and, yes, we are aware of it.

And when his likability isn't coming from eccentric coaching and hilarious press conferences, Klopp apparently exercises his popularity with a pen and paper.

That's because an amusing story has emerged in the Daily Mail this week that reveals how Klopp sent a letter to a Manchester United fan, 10, who got in contact with the Liverpool boss.

The youngster penned: "Dear Jurgen Klopp, My name is Daragh. I am 10 years old. I go to Glenswilly N.S in Donegal. I support Man United and the reason I am writing is to complain.

Man Utd fan's letter

"Liverpool are winning too many games. If you win nine more games then you have the best unbeaten run in English football. Being a United fan that is very sad.

"So the next time Liverpool play please make them lose. You should just let the other team score. I hope I have convinced you to not win the league or win another match ever again. Yours sincerely, Daragh."

Given his age, the letter is both innocent, hilarious and cheeky all in good measure, but even Daragh himself could never have expected a reply from Klopp.

Jurgen Klopp's brilliant reply

But the Liverpool manager did indeed get in touch and while he was unable to grant Daragh's request to purposely lose a game, he certainly wrote some sweet touches.

The German coach explained: "Unfortunately, on this occasion I cannot grant your request, not through choice anyway.

"As much as you want Liverpool to lose, it is my job to do everything that I can to help Liverpool to win as there are millions of people around the world who want that to happen so I really do not want to let them down.

"I can safely say that one thing that will not change is your passion for football and for your club. Manchester United are lucky to have you.

"Although our clubs are great rivals we also share a great respect for one another. This, to me, is what football is all about."

Klopp shows his class

How can you hate him? What a guy.

To take the time out to reply to a young lad who doesn't even support Liverpool is a touch of class and treating such an amusing letter with that candour is a sign of his sense of humour.

Besides, Daragh certainly isn't alone in hoping that Liverpool finally lose a game - in the Premier League, that is - but Klopp's reply won't give rival fans anything in the way of hope.

It will take something in the way of pure steel, not ink, to stop Liverpool's 'invincibles' in waiting.
