Giovani Lo Celso got away with murder during Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Tottenham. Not literally, but almost. The Argentine was at the centre of huge controversy as he stamped on Cesar Azpilicueta while the Spaniard was on the ground. It didn't appear that the playmaker had done it deliberately, but it still looked like a certain red card.VAR reviewed and allowed him off scot free - only to later redact that decision and apologise for getting it wrong.

A farcical state of affairs at Stockley Park, but one might wonder why Lo Celso was even still on the pitch at that point. 

Cameras also caught him kicking out at Mason Mount.

It didn't look all that dissimilar to the incident involving Harry Maguire during Manchester United's 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Monday night (for which the centre-back also escaped a red card). 

Nor was it a million miles from Heung-min Son's dismissal for lashing out at Antonio Rudiger in the reverse fixture back in December at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He was eventually booked for another tackle, but it was too little, too late. 

Fair play to Lo Celso for ensuring Jose Mourinho wasn't the most unpopular man at the Bridge come Saturday afternoon.
