Martin Braithwaite enjoyed a dream start to his Barcelona career on Saturday afternoon.The 28-year-old, who completed his controversial £15 million move to Barça from Leganes earlier this week, came off the bench in the 72nd minute for Antoine Griezmann.The Danish striker, who played for Middlesbrough between 2017-2019, made an instant impact, assisting the final two goals in Barcelona’s 5-0 win over Eibar at Camp Nou.A Lionel Messi hat-trick had already put the Catalan giants 3-0 up at half-time.Braithwaite then came off the bench and set Messi up for a fourth goal in the 87th minute.

What a superb ball in between the goalkeeper and the defender.

Messi finished in style to complete his Man of the Match performance.

Braithwaite wasn’t finished, though.

Minutes later he almost got himself on the scoresheet, showing great pace and strength to get away from the Eibar goalkeeper before seeing his left-footed strike saved.

The ball then bounced kindly into Arthur’s path and the Brazilian midfielder simply couldn’t miss.

Braithwaite may not have got on the scoresheet, but this was still a hugely encouraging debut from the forward.
