If any more evidence was needed to prove that Timo Werner actually quite likes the idea of a move to Liverpool, his interview after RB Leipzig’s latest victory might just have confirmed it.

As you’ll remember, the German striker raised eyebrows with his comments about the Reds on Wednesday, after securing a 1-0 Champions League victory for his side against Tottenham.

He admitted, with a modest smile on his face: "Liverpool are the best team in the world at the moment, and when you're linked with that team it makes me very proud.

"It's a pleasure but I know Liverpool play a lot of good players and I have to improve myself and to learn much more things to get on this level to play there."

You had to feel for him. He might be one of the most exciting strikers around, but unfortunately, he didn’t quite manage to pull off the poker face he needed to hide his enthusiasm for the Reds.

And now, everybody seems to know Timo Werner to be a bit of an easy target when it comes to interview questions – especially those concerning Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.

After his ferocious strike helped Leipzig complete a 5-0 thrashing of Schalke, Sky Germany managed to pull a bit more information from Werner about his thoughts on the Reds.

The German tried his best to hold back from divulging too much this time, but couldn’t resist lauding some praise onto Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp – a known admirer of Werner.

Speaking to Sky Germany, Werner said: "Jurgen Klopp is the best coach in the world.
"There is a lot to suggest that my style of play would suit there [Liverpool]."

This might seem like a little tit-bit of information, but it definitely suggests that Werner is already thinking about the role he would play within Klopp’s set-up at Liverpool.

So, no matter how hard he tries, Werner continues to heighten the speculation over his own head, and will likely continue to do so until the move either does or doesn’t happen!

Be nice to him, reporters.
