Women's Sport: Millie Bright believes that the Blue's can remain unbeaten in the league, despite an upcoming WSL clash against Manchester City

Manchester United v Chelsea FC - FA Women's Continental League Cup: Semi-Final

Chelsea defender Millie Bright believes that her team can sustain and build on their current unbeaten record of 14 league games. Despite added pressure from fans and the footballing community, Bright stated that they “never expect to win”.

“We are confident and want to keep the momentum”.

The defender has played in all 14 of the Blue’s WSL games so far this season - in total, they have only conceded eight goals – statistically, the side has the second-best defence in terms of goals conceded, with current top-of-the-table Manchester City holding the crown with just six goals conceded.

Despite Chelsea not being in the Champions League this season, they have an incredibly busy schedule coming up, including a possible league decider against the giants of the league: Manchester City.

In the reverse fixture back in December, Chelsea dominated the Northerners by an impressive 2-1.

The “attacking team” have been performing exceptionally well, having scored 44 goals in the league so far, they are currently the league’s highest goal-scorers with a game in hand.

"We are an attacking team and have been scoring a lot of goals, so it is no surprise teams are defending the way they are, and it is up to us to find the next level and break teams down.”

Not only have Chelsea remained unbeaten in the league, but they are also in the Continental Cup Final, as well as maintaining an FA Cup campaign.

The England international is confident with her team and believes that they can “win everything”.

“I can’t see a reason why we can’t go on and win everything”.
