After a scintillating night of box office sport in Las Vegas, it can be assumed that unless you have been living under a rock, you will know that Tyson Fury had his hand raised in victory after a tremendous bout against the now former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

The build-up to this fight couldn’t have been bigger, with both fighters looking to put the record straight after leaving the first fight at level-pegging back in December 2018.

At 31 years of age, the reigning ‘Gypsy King’ put on a highly convincing and dominating display against arguably the biggest puncher since George Foreman in Wilder; Tyson was on the offensive from the get-go, and although promising fans he would KO Wilder inside two rounds, the fight came to a stoppage in the seventh by way of TKO with Wilder being deemed unable to continue.

Fury is now the reigning WBC heavyweight champion, thus meaning that all heavyweight title belts are round the waists of British fighters with Anthony Joshua currently maintaining the IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO titles.

Talk is running rife already as a result, with fans now calling for a bout between the ‘Gypsy King’ and the division’s golden man AJ.

A fight between the two brits would mean we would have the first unification bout since the days of Lennox Lewis, and hopefully see one man hold all of the belts, meaning an undisputed British heavyweight champion at long last.

Fans have already taken a stab at putting the pair up against each other in a simulated test run on Fight Night Champion – the result in the simulation was that Fury was once again victorious!

Wilder, of course, has a rematch clause in his contract, which he may seek to take up, meaning a coveted trilogy fight between the ‘Gypsy King’ and ‘Bronze Bomber’.

Wilder will certainly need time to recover from this defeat, but in the meantime, the fight that every British boxing fan wants to see is Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury in a unification fight.
